Town are reported to be waiting on formal permission from their bank to start spending some of the cash freed up by the debt restructuring verbally agreed with their three biggest lenders - Barclays, Norwich Union and the Bank of Scotland.

Town's annual report and accounts reveal that the club made a loss of £3.17 million and took their overall debt to £35.75 million during the year to June 2005. However, chief executive Derek Bowden says the loss was to be expected in the first year without a Premiership parachute payment.

Ipswich Town's creditors this morning overwhelmingly accepted the proposed Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA) at a series of meetings in the Galleria at Portman Road. 98.2% of creditors by value agreed to go along with the plan put together by the club along with administrators Deloitte and Touche.

A report this morning claims Town's current debt to be £54.237 million. This figure includes the £25 million bond, player wages, the bank overdraft and other debts.

Darren Bent scored the winner this evening as the reserves beat Watford 1-0 at Vicarage Road. The England U19 striker, the FA Barclaycard Premiership Reserve League (South)'s top scorer, hit the net on 50 minutes.
